Our Journey So Far

I find it hard to believe sometimes, but Scott and I met less than two years ago, in April 2018. Without any conversation first, I had pretty much moved in within a couple of months - staying one night turned into me staying 5/6 nights a week. In July 2018 we made it official, rented out my flat and I moved in properly to his house (pictured above). In December 2019 we sold this house and moved back to my flat, which is where we are now. We did some work to it before moving in and are still finishing this while we are there.

The move to the flat seems like a backward step to some, it was a beautiful house we left behind, but it's not without reason. Our ultimate goal is to build our family home, and we are working on that in the background (planning permission is currently a hot topic in our house) so selling was a starting point for buying the plot and building. In the mean time though we are buying a smaller house that will be a great base for us to build, and a great first family home if the build doesn't happen just now. Either way, it's going to be an exciting move for us - our first proper home together.

I will do a few posts about the old house, but I can't take credit for a lot of the work that went into it. Scott owned it before we met and had already done a lot of the work - re configuring a few bits the layout, adding stairs to convert the loft and completely renovated the downstairs of the house. While I was there we finished the loft conversion, built an extension and got the house and garden ready for selling. It was a lot of hard work but it was more than worth it when we saw it done.
